Fair Brane
fair brane is a painter and experimental filmmaker currently living and working in Los Angeles, CA. They obtained their BFA from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in 2011 with a major in Painting & Drawing. Whilst at the Tyler School of Art they completed a semester abroad at Temple University Rome and soon after attended the Norfolk Summer School of Art at Yale University. After graduating they did a residency at the Philadelphia Art Hotel (May 2011) before enrolling at the Ohio State University where they obtained their Masters in Painting & Drawing with a minor in Cinema & Video Production (May 2015).

They are the recipient of the Ellen Battel-Stoeckel Fellowship from Yale University, the John Fergus Scholarship from Ohio State University and the Barbara Hammer Lesbian Experimental Filmmaking Grant from Queer|Art. They have been nominated for Ohio State’s Presidential Fellowship, the Dedalus Foundation MFA Fellowship and were a finalist in the 12th Edition of the Arte Laguna Prize in Video Art & Performance category. Their filmic work has been exhibited at Blum & Poe, Plexus Projects, Southern Exposure Project Space, Bow Arts, the Guardian Art Center, the Arsenale of Venice, Milo Arts, ROY G BIV Gallery, COOP and Elephant Gallery amongst other spaces.
