SIGHT

Martyna Wolna (born 1988 in Ruda Slaska, PL) a transmedia artist, with a degree in painting. Her painting subjects include the "waste of society" with non traditional techniques. Some of her works utalized old and discarted canvases as a continuation on that theme. She prefers the simultanious use of oil and acrylics in her paintings. In her installations she often uses literal waste creating provocking forms from materials such as candy pacaking or used gum. In contrast Martyna's performance art fallows a more traditional form. Her work is strongly influenced by her relationship with her mother, inspiring her choice of themes and props. Her performances include the use of everyday items from the current day and her childchood. She has throughly explored the emotional dynamics of the mother-daughter relationship, at times taking on the roles of mother and daughter at the same time. Martyna enjoys involving the audience in the performance with or against their will bringing yet another unknown quantity to the performance art equation.
