Anything for Selenas

New art exhibits are on their way to the McNay, and we'll give you hint- "Anything for Selenas!"
January 15- July 5:
The McNay is paying tribute to 90s icon, singer, designer, and Texas legend—Selena Quintanilla-Pérez—with a series of five photographs by award-winning San Antonio photographer John Dyer. This installation is presented in conjunction with Fashion Nirvana to celebrate the impact and legacy of a beloved Texas 90’s designer and icon. Selena was the subject of Dyer’s photo assignments for the cover of Más Magazine in 1992 and again for Texas Monthly in 1995, just months before she was tragically killed at age 23. This year is the 25th anniversary of her passing.
January 30-May 17:
Also new to the McNay is the 'Fashion Nirvana: Runway to Everyday' art exhibit! From gowns to grunge, Fashion Nirvana: Runway to Everyday marks the first large-scale fashion and video art exhibition in McNay history. Opening January 30, the innovative exhibition celebrates designers, models, celebrities, photographers, and video artists who made the 90s an iconic decade. Fashion Nirvana features over 50 runway to everyday garments by famous designers Christian Dior, Tom Ford, Carolina Herrera, Isaac Mizrahi, and more, along with video art from the decade. The 90’s are definitely back, and at The McNay we celebrate beauty in all forms, including fashion as art.
